Why the Ultra Bee interested riders
The original article introduced the Ultra Bee alongside the smaller Light Bee and larger Storm Bee. Its focus was the emerging middle option for riders comparing electric off-road motorcycles. The range has since developed, so the old specification comparisons should not be used as a current buying table.
Read the current model guide
For today’s generation and variant checks, use our Ultra Bee buying guide. To compare physical platforms, use Light Bee vs Ultra Bee. Each current comparison identifies the model it describes.
Three corrections that matter now
- Range claims need the test speed and conditions, not just a maximum distance. See Sur-Ron range.
- A road-approved motorcycle and an off-road model have different documentation and compliance requirements. See UK road-use guidance.
- Derestricting a road model is not a shortcut to keeping its original road approval or insurance position. Check the completed vehicle and intended use before any change.
A contemporary first-hand account
Our Storm Bee Boxing Day Enduro report preserves a named-rider competition account from the same archive period. It is a separate event report, not evidence that the original Ultra Bee was tested in those conditions.
