Start with the kind of riding you want to do. Stark Future is the manufacturer; VARG is its motorcycle family. MX 1.2 is the motocross model, EX is the road-homologated enduro and SM is the supermoto. Choosing the right platform matters before choosing 60HP or 80HP.
This MotoEbikes advice hub brings together model comparisons, UK buying checks and ownership guidance. Prices and specifications below were checked on 13 October 2026. Technical figures are manufacturer specifications; riding impressions and independently measured range are only presented as such when a documented test exists.

The VARG family in one minute
MX 1.2: start here for motocross
The MX 1.2 is the track-focused choice, with 60HP and 80HP versions. Confirm venue rules, riding suitability, transport and charging between sessions. Do not treat a motocross bike as road legal because another member of the same family is homologated.
EX: start here for enduro
The EX combines the VARG platform with enduro equipment and road homologation. It is the relevant starting point if your riding needs an enduro motorcycle and legal road connections. Road approval still requires the correct registration, compliant configuration, insurance and rider entitlement.
SM: start here for supermoto
The SM is configured around road-focused supermoto use, including 17-inch wheels and a larger front brake than the EX. Judge it against your actual route, charging arrangements and fit. A headline range figure does not guarantee a particular commute.
SKÖLL and special editions
SKÖLL is a numbered 500-bike SM edition with Alpha output, titanium equipment and a black finish. Read the edition guide before comparing its price with a standard SM. For any other special edition, check the exact order specification instead of assuming every VARG with the same power label has identical equipment.
UK prices: a checked starting point

MX prices vary by listed colour variant. A published price is not a promise of immediate availability. The linked product page is the place to check the current offer, and the final quotation should establish delivery, setup and registration arrangements.
Five checks before buying a Stark
- Use: choose the discipline and confirm where you can legally ride.
- Fit: try the controls, footing and low-speed manoeuvring; discuss rider weight with kit and suspension setup.
- Road documents: for road use, match the exact approved bike to your licence and obtain an insurance quote.
- Charging: confirm the UK charger connection, electrical supply and charging settings before assuming a headline recharge time.
- Ownership: budget for tyres, brakes, chain care, suspension, protective equipment, transport and any optional subscriptions.

How to read range and power claims
Peak horsepower, continuous rated power and battery capacity answer different questions. Peak output describes available performance; the approved classification helps establish licence requirements; kWh describes stored energy. None supplies a complete answer on its own.
Similarly, an enduro riding-time claim and a road-distance test are not directly comparable. Look for the route, pace, rider, conditions and starting/finishing charge. Our Stark range guide helps you assess the conditions behind a figure.
Official support and local help
For model-specific procedures, use Stark support and official manuals and technical tutorials. Use the version that applies to your bike; generic advice should not replace a torque specification or service procedure.

Sources and editorial approach
Model information comes from Stark’s MX 1.2, EX, SM and SKÖLL pages. Prices come from the linked MotoEbikes listings. Legal guides link to official guidance and identify their geographical scope. Manufacturer media and specifications are identified as such; a specification comparison is not a claim of first-hand testing.
