Quick answer: The Stark VARG EX is Stark Future’s road-homologated enduro VARG. MotoEbikes currently lists the VARG EX 60HP at £10,900 and the VARG EX 80HP Alpha at £11,900. Both use Stark’s 7.2 kWh battery platform. The important UK point is that road homologation and motorcycle-licence entitlement are separate questions: check the specific bike’s registered continuous power, V5C/CoC and your licence before riding on the road.

Stark describes the EX as “race performance, street legal” and separates it from the VARG MX motocross model and the VARG SM supermoto model. That distinction matters more than the headline horsepower when choosing the right VARG.
What exactly is the Stark VARG EX?
The EX is the enduro member of the VARG family. It is designed around mixed off-road/enduro use while being homologated for road use. If your riding is mainly closed-course motocross, compare the VARG MX. If your riding is mainly tarmac and supermoto, the VARG SM is the more relevant starting point.
60HP or 80HP Alpha?
The two EX versions differ in maximum output and eligibility for Alpha’s Dynamic Traction Control update. The 80HP Alpha raises the available maximum output and currently costs £1,000 more at MotoEbikes. Both sit on the EX platform and use the 7.2 kWh battery capacity published for the VARG range.

Battery, charging and riding time
Stark publishes a 7.2 kWh battery for the VARG EX platform. Stark’s current specification quotes two hours at 240 V and 3.5 hours at 120 V with its listed 3.3 kW charger. It also advertises up to six hours of trail riding under its stated conditions. Treat “hours of riding” as a manufacturer claim rather than a fixed mileage figure. Terrain, speed, rider weight, tyre choice, temperature, power map and how aggressively the bike is ridden can all change the result.

What to check on the exact EX before ordering
- Rider fit: Stark lists 99.0 cm seat height fully extended and 96.6 cm at static sag. Those measurements do not tell you your own footing; check the bike with appropriate setup.
- Suspension and controls: confirm the spring/setup choice, rider weight with kit, and the specified rear-brake control arrangement.
- Charging: confirm the UK plug, circuit and charging-current setting. Stark’s listed charger specification is 3.3 kW and 16 A; do not assume full output from every household socket.
- Road paperwork: request the approved configuration and registration details before arranging insurance or relying on learner eligibility.
- Connected features: Stark separates free functions from optional Premium features. Check current UK subscription terms and what remains available without a subscription.

Is the Stark VARG EX road legal in the UK?
The VARG EX is a road-homologated model. That does not automatically mean every EX configuration is rideable on a CBT or A1 licence. In Great Britain, motorcycle entitlement is tied to the vehicle’s registered classification and continuous/rated power, not simply the 60HP or 80HP peak headline.
An eligible rider aged 17 or over may use a motorcycle within the learner rules after CBT, but the exact approved specification must qualify. An 11 kW figure by itself is not sufficient evidence. Before relying on this, check the actual bike’s V5C/Certificate of Conformity and registered continuous power.
