No. This is one of the most common misunderstandings about road-legal electric motorcycles, so it's worth being precise.
- Homologation matters. The L3e has to be type-approved to the relevant vehicle category before it can be sold and used as a road-going motorcycle. That approval covers the whole vehicle, not just its lighting.
- Registration matters. A road-legal motorcycle needs to be registered with the DVLA and carry number plates before it can be used on public roads.
- Insurance matters. Riding on public roads requires appropriate motor insurance for the vehicle and rider.
