Sur-Ron UK says the new Light Bee 2 is coming to the UK in autumn 2026. Sur-Ron Light Bee 2 UK: the quick answer
The Sur-Ron Light Bee 2 is the next-generation Light Bee, not simply another version of the existing 2026 Light Bee X.
Sur-Ron has moved the platform into a different performance category, with 24kW maximum power compared with 10kW for the current MY26 Light Bee X sold in the UK.
Sur-Ron UK has announced that the Light Bee 2 is coming in autumn 2026. As of 20 August 2026, an exact UK release date and final UK retail price have not been published.
MotoEbikes is accepting UK pre-orders and enquiries from riders who want to secure a Light Bee 2 from an official UK dealer.

Important: These are the current European manufacturer specifications. Final UK specification, price and availability should be checked again when Sur-Ron UK publishes its complete UK model information.
Manufacturer range figures are measured under controlled conditions. Actual range will vary with rider weight, terrain, speed, temperature, tyre pressures, riding mode and riding style.
What is the new Sur-Ron Light Bee 2?
The Light Bee 2 is a major redesign of the motorcycle that made the Sur-Ron Light Bee name so well known.
It retains the lightweight idea behind the original Light Bee but adds considerably more power, a larger battery and a much more sophisticated electronic control system.
Sur-Ron describes the Light Bee 2 as its next-generation lightweight performance electric off-road motorcycle.
The headline number is the combination of 24kW maximum power and a 65kg kerb weight.
That places it between the traditional lightweight Light Bee concept and considerably heavier high-performance electric dirt bikes.
It is also why buyers should not confuse the Light Bee 2 with the MY26 Sur-Ron Light Bee X 10kW already available in the UK.
Is the Light Bee 2 the same as the 2026 Sur-Ron Light Bee X?
No.
This is probably the most important thing UK buyers need to understand.
The MY26 Light Bee X 10kW and the Light Bee 2 X 24kW are different bikes.
The current UK Light Bee X has already launched and is available through Sur-Ron UK dealers. The Light Bee 2 is the new 24kW generation announced for later in 2026.

How powerful is the Sur-Ron Light Bee 2?
Sur-Ron Europe lists maximum output at 24kW.
That is 2.4 times the maximum power rating of the current UK MY26 Light Bee X 10kW.
Sur-Ron's European specification also lists 410Nm of maximum torque at the wheel, with manufacturer-claimed acceleration of:
- 0 to 50km/h in 1.8 seconds
- 0 to 80km/h in 3.43 seconds
- 90km/h maximum speed
That 90km/h figure is approximately 56mph.
These are manufacturer figures rather than MotoEbikes independent test results. We will add our own riding impressions and real-world testing when a UK production bike is available to us.
A note about the torque figure
Sur-Ron Europe's current Light Bee 2 page specifies 410Nm maximum wheel torque.
Some regional Sur-Ron distributor material has shown a slightly different figure. For UK-facing information, MotoEbikes is using the 410Nm European specification until Sur-Ron UK publishes the final UK technical sheet.
What battery does the Light Bee 2 use?
The Light Bee 2 has a 78.54V 45Ah battery with 3.53kWh of capacity.
That is a substantial increase over the battery fitted to the current Light Bee X.
Sur-Ron's claimed range figures are:
Up to 108km, around 67 miles, at a constant 40km/h
and
Up to 160km, around 99 miles, at a constant 25km/h
The second number should not be treated as the distance most riders will achieve during normal off-road riding.
Trail riding, hard acceleration, hills, softer ground, rider weight and cold temperatures can all reduce range significantly.
For buyers comparing electric dirt bikes, the 108km at 40km/h test figure is the more useful of Sur-Ron's two published figures, but it is still a controlled manufacturer test rather than a guaranteed real-world range.
The Light Bee 2 gets much more advanced rider electronics
The change is not only about motor power.
The new platform introduces rider-control technology that was not part of the traditional Light Bee formula.
SRTC traction control
The Light Bee 2 uses Sur-Ron Traction Control, SRTC, designed to manage rear-wheel slip when grip changes.
Sur-Ron Wheelie Control
There is also a 2-level Sur-Ron Wheelie Control system.
This is intended to give the rider electronic assistance when controlling the front wheel under acceleration.
Adjustable regenerative braking
The Light Bee 2 offers multiple levels of regenerative braking, allowing the rider to change how strongly the motorcycle slows and recovers energy when appropriate.
Adjustable throttle response
Throttle response can be adjusted through three levels, allowing the power delivery to be made progressively softer or more responsive.
Cruise control and Auto Hold
Sur-Ron has also added cruise control and an Auto Hold function.
Together, these features make the Light Bee 2 considerably more electronically sophisticated than earlier Light Bee generations.
How fast is the Sur-Ron Light Bee 2?
Sur-Ron's current European specification gives the Light Bee 2 a maximum speed of 90km/h, equivalent to approximately 56mph.
The important distinction is that maximum speed does not automatically determine whether a motorcycle is legal to use on UK roads.
Vehicle approval, registration, homologation, insurance, licensing and the exact model specification all matter.
Is the Sur-Ron Light Bee 2 road legal in the UK?
The Light Bee 2 X currently shown by Sur-Ron Europe is an off-road motorcycle.
MotoEbikes cannot currently confirm a UK road-legal Light Bee 2 variant.
Until Sur-Ron UK confirms otherwise, buyers should not assume that the Light Bee 2 X can be registered or ridden legally on UK public roads.
An off-road Light Bee 2 must be used on appropriate private land with the landowner's permission.
If Sur-Ron announces a homologated UK road-legal Light Bee 2 variant, we will update this page with its classification and licence requirements.

Should I buy the current Light Bee X or wait for the Light Bee 2?
They are now different propositions.
Choose the MY26 Light Bee X 10kW if you want the traditional lightweight Light Bee format, want a bike now and do not need the additional performance of the Light Bee 2.
The current Light Bee X weighs 59kg, produces up to 10kW and is currently available in the UK at £3,295.
Wait for or pre-order the Light Bee 2 if the 24kW powertrain, larger 3.53kWh battery, advanced electronics and significantly higher performance are what attracted you to the new bike.
Price will obviously be another important part of that decision once UK pricing is confirmed.
We will publish a complete Light Bee 2 vs Light Bee X comparison separately so buyers can compare the two without relying on marketing claims.
Light Bee 2 or Ultra Bee?
This could become one of the biggest Sur-Ron buying decisions of 2026.
The Light Bee 2 produces 24kW while weighing only 65kg.
The current UK Ultra Bee HP X produces 24.5kW, but it is a substantially larger motorcycle at approximately 88.5kg.
That means maximum power is surprisingly close, but the bikes remain very different in size, chassis, feel and intended rider.
We will publish a full Sur-Ron Light Bee 2 vs Ultra Bee HP comparison as UK specification and pricing are finalised.
