How they help

Extra support while balance is still developing

These balance wheels are intended for riders who are struggling to balance while riding slowly. They add temporary low-speed stability while the rider practises moving, steering and building confidence.

Important: slow-speed setting only.

Revvi says the balance wheels should only be used on the slow-speed setting and warns that they can be overloaded if the rider corners on the fast-speed setting.

When to remove them

A stepping stone, not a permanent setup

Once the rider is cornering confidently on the slow-speed setting, Revvi recommends trying the bike without the balance wheels.

  1. Start slow.Use the bike on its slow-speed setting with the stabilisers fitted.
  2. Build confidence.Practise controlled low-speed riding and cornering.
  3. Try without them.Remove the balance wheels once the rider is cornering confidently at low speed.

Are Revvi stabilisers the same as the Balance Wheel Kit?

What is included in the Revvi Balance Wheel Kit?

The kit includes a pair of balance wheels plus the bolts and brackets needed for fitting.

Do the Revvi stabiliser wheels light up?

Yes. The wheels have flashing lights that illuminate while they spin.

Why do I need to choose 12 inch or 16 inch?

The Revvi 12-inch and 16-inch balance wheel kits are different. Choose the option that matches the bike before adding it to your basket.

Can the stabilisers be used on the fast-speed setting?

No. Revvi says the balance wheels should only be used on the slow-speed setting and warns that they can be overloaded if the rider corners on the fast-speed setting.

When should the stabilisers be removed?

They are intended as a temporary learning aid. Revvi recommends trying the bike without them once the rider is cornering confidently on the slow-speed setting.

That is their intended use: extra stability for riders who are struggling to balance while riding slowly. They do not replace supervision or normal riding safety.

Are these training wheels?

Yes. 'Stabilisers', 'balance wheels' and 'training wheels' are different terms for the same type of temporary learning aid. Revvi uses the Balance Wheel Kit wording for this accessory.
